Assembled barbecue on a patio

BBQ assembly.
Done proper.

From box to BBQ.

  • Step 1

    Tell us the item.

Brand, model, and accessories are enough for us to scope a BBQ assembly job. Send a product link and we'll come back with a fixed price and a booking time that holds.

  • Step 2

    We turn up.

Right tools, right van, on time. Larger gas BBQs and built-in BBQ heads may need two builders so the assembly stays on schedule and the heavy lifts are safe.

  • Step 3

    We assemble.

We build, level, and finish the BBQ. Gas bottle connected, leak-tested, accessories fitted, lid aligned. Ready to fire up before we leave.

Hassle to handled.

What BBQ assembly covers

BBQ assembly is fiddlier than it looks. A typical premium BBQ ships in one or two large boxes with 100+ fittings, and the cart and grill body are assembled in a specific order before the gas connection at the end. Here's what the work covers.

BBQ assembly

The core build covers gas BBQs (the dominant format in NZ), charcoal BBQs, electric BBQs, kettle BBQs and smokers (including Weber kettle, Big Green Egg, and Kamado-style ceramic cookers), portable and travel BBQs, and built-in BBQ heads (the standalone grill unit without a surround or trolley). The work follows a standard sequence: lay out and check the parts against the manifest (BBQs ship with hundreds of small fittings and a few items that look very alike), build the cart or trolley first, then build the grill body, fit the lid hinges and handle, then mount the body onto the cart. Brands we work across include Weber, Beefeater, BeefMaster, Masport, Napoleon, Char-Broil, Crossray, Trafalgar, Everdure, and most NZ BBQ retailers. The Weber Genesis range is widely sold across the Auckland market.

Gas connection and testing

Most gas BBQs in New Zealand run off a 9kg LPG bottle that connects to the BBQ via a regulator and hose, both of which usually come in the box. We connect the bottle, tighten the regulator to the recommended torque, and run a soapy-water leak test on the LPG connection before declaring the BBQ ready to use. If your BBQ is being plumbed to a permanent gas line at the house (natural gas or piped LPG), that connection needs to be done by a registered gas fitter, not us. We can assemble the BBQ, position it, and prepare the gas inlet for the gas fitter to connect when they arrive.

Accessories and cleanup

BBQs often come with accessories that aren't strictly part of the main assembly. Rotisseries, infrared side burners, smoker boxes, warming racks, and waffle plates are all common add-ons. We fit each one as part of the build, set up the rotisserie motor and spit if there is one, and confirm any auxiliary burners light correctly. If a BBQ cover was included or ordered separately, we fit that too. Once the BBQ is built, gas-tested where applicable, and finished, the packaging leaves with us: cardboard, polystyrene, plastic wrap, and the bag of spare hardware. The user manual stays with you. The yard is left clear before we go.
